Enjoy A Romantic Night At The Beach

There’s just something about warm tropical breezes, beautiful blue waters and exotic drinks with paper umbrellas that combine to bring out the romantic side in some people. If you and your sweetie adore nights at the beach, you can spice up your love life without ever leaving home.

No, really! With a little bit of planning and some romantic magic, you can bring the beach to your lover. Here’s how:

·        Set the atmosphere – To replicate a night at the beach, you’re going to need a little surf, a touch of sand and lots of starry sky. You can create the perfect atmosphere in your backyard by buying a little “sand” from a hardware store, popping in a CD that plays ocean or steel drum sounds and filling a kiddie pool with warm water. (If you happen to have a real pool, even better.) Whatever the case, sprinkle the sand for that perfect between-the-toes feel and set up a comfortable chairs for lounging. You might also want to pick up some tiki torches to add to that tropical feel.

·        Set a menu – This step is also known as “call the caterer” in my book, but I digress. Don’t forget to have some tropical food on hand. If your night is to include dinner, get a restaurant or caterer to make you something with island flavors.

·        Send the invitation – Even if you and your sweetheart cohabitate, you’ll want to make sure she (or he) is dressed for the occasion. Give her (or him) an invitation to dinner that calls for beach attire. You don’t have to go into too many details if you want to keep the surprise.

·        Don’t forget the umbrellas – To ensure a perfect night at the beach, you’ll need to have some drinks ready to go. Margaritas, tropical daiquiris, pina coladas and other tropical style concoctions are perfect for sipping. Just don’t forget the paper umbrellas!

Now, kick back and enjoy!  Savor your dinner, drinks and the feel of warm sand between your toes. Dip your feet into the water or take a relaxing swim before you dance to the music of a tropical steel drum band and see where the night leads. Chances are you won’t want to share all the details in the morning!
