Romance On The Turn Of A Dime (Romantic & Valentine's Day Gifts)

If you're one of those guys or gals out there that thinks high romance equates to an expensive credit card bill, think again! There's nothing written in stone that says this is so. In fact, some of the most romantic gestures are the least expensive – if you have a bit of creativity inside you!

 

Some of my favorite ways to add a romantic, playful spark to any day or evening don't even cost enough to require more than a roll of coins or a couple of bucks.  In fact, get in the habit of saving your spare change just for this purpose. It will be one of the best investments you can make.

• Sweetheart notes. Remember the days back in elementary school and junior high when note passing was the thing to do? It's possible for adults to tap into this fun in a more "grown up" sort of way. To light the fires of romance, slip a handwritten note into your sweetie's briefcase or purse. Describe your feelings, just send your love or even lay out plans for a romantic night alone. There's just something about finding an actual, honest to goodness handwritten, romantic note in the middle of a workday that makes all the worries in the world melt away!

• Whip up dinner. Whether you're a guy or a gal, this is a fairly easy, but fun way to go. Instead of the usual, create something a little more romantic. (Ship the kids off for the night – if there are any at home - or wait until they turn in to eat!). There's nothing quite as simplistically romantic as a candlelit dinner for two that includes a sweetheart's favorite dishes.

• Set up a Love Scavenger Hunt in your bedroom.  Hide little, inexpensive gifts around your bedroom with little notes attached to the next gift.  Can be scented silk petals, edible undies, complimentary trip for a manicure, scented candles, a bottle of wine, unusual glasses, etc.  The mood for romance will be set when all the gifts are found The effort involved is the real points winner!

• Midnight picnic under the stars or in your boudoir.  This is a real hit with both the guys and the gals. All you need is a basket of delectable food items, two glasses and some champagne or wine.  Invite your Prince Charming or Ladylove to a personal evening of love.  Don’t forget to add some romantic music and scented candles.

Romance isn't always a race to see how much money can be spent on vacations, trinkets and toys. The real heart of it lies in the small gestures that show a beautiful lady or special guy just how special you think they are!
