With Valentine's Day fast approaching, I have a little advice for you guys out there who are starting to pull your hair out in wonderment of what to do. That advice? Get original!
Come on fellas, Valentine's Day is the single most romantic day of the year. It opens the door on new love, solidifies old love and can really lead to a fantastically steamy time if you know how to sweep your lady off her feet!
Unfortunately, Valentine's is also loaded with some rather passé traditions. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all for cards, roses and most especially gourmet chocolate, but you need to do more if you really want to show your Valentine she's the best. Originality is the key. In fact, if you play your cards right, you and your honey can start your own Valentine's Day traditions to look forward to each year.
My suggestions? Of course, I have my share, but remember originality is key. So do put your own spin on these if you can. (Otherwise, feel free to copy!)
Treat her like a queen - Give your lady the day off. Wake her up with customary or spectacular presents and breakfast in bed. Let her luxuriate as long as she wants and don't forget to treat her to a candlelit dinner, a massage and some couple alone time later in the evening! If you do this right, she'll look forward to repeating the tradition next year and so will you!
Found gifts dazzle - Women absolutely love cute plush animals, gourmet chocolates and roses on Valentine's Day, but they also adore sentimentality. Present her with a found gift that recalls a special time you've had in the past. Maybe a shell from a trip to the beach or a napkin from the first restaurant you two ever ate at together (including a romantic poem on the back to let her know she still moves you after all this time is a fantastic touch).
Return to the scene of romance – Pick up your lady and take her for a drive to a romantic place in your past as a couple. Take a different trip down memory lane each year to keep the tradition fun and alive. Do keep her guessing about where you're going!
