Your sweetie does a lot for you and your children during the course of the year. While it's unfair and wrong, she only gets one special day set aside for a little pampering and spoiling sent back in her direction. While this isn't nearly enough and many of us should make a habit of doing more, blowing it on Mother's Day can be a grave mistake.
So, how can you make sure your honey knows just how much you care and appreciate her efforts on your family's behalf? Spoil her rotten and treat her like the queen she is!
My suggestions for a perfect Mother's Day go something like this:
- Breakfast in bed – Mom's NEVER get to sleep in. Make sure she has the chance to do so. While a fancy brunch out is the rage, there's something better about being able to luxuriate in bed just a wee bit longer. If the kids are still at home, get them in on the act and have them help make and serve breakfast. Try to keep the production quiet though! Don't forget to put a flower or two and the cards on the serving tray.
- Presents in the living room – Once she's ready to get up, treat her to her presents from you and the kids. If your gift happens to be a little racy, catch her alone. Do have a second gift that the kids can actually see though or they'll think you remiss!
- Do what she wants – Plan a family day doing what she loves to do best. Whether it’s a trip to the park, a day snuggling on the couch watching family movies or even a drive in the country or window shopping at the mall, line up to oblige.
- Make dinner special – Mother's Day pampering should not end after breakfast. Unfortunately, many of us forget about the last meal of the day and Mom ends up cooking. Don't let this happen! Have plans in place.
- After-dinner surprise – Once the kids go to bed, treat her to a hot bubble bath, a massage and even a little romancing. Topping it all off with a champagne toast is always a nice touch, too.
Your lady does a lot for your family around the clock, every day. Make sure she knows she matters and is loved by spoiling her absolutely rotten this Mother's Day!
