When the Thanksgiving dinner table is set only for two, a lot of couples choose to miss out on the festivities and opt for a little less in regard to pomp and circumstance. Don't let this happen!
Thanksgivings created just for two can be just as memorable (if not more so) than boisterous family gatherings and standing-room-only dining rooms. The trick is all in the planning.

- Mood play. Make sure to set the tone by pulling out all the stops in true holiday fashion. This means the good China, silver, candles and most importantly the right kind of music playing in the background.
- Dinner. There are many roads to take in this regard. Some call for more work than others, but the together time is fantastic. The three basic options to explore include going for the full traditional meal, cooked at home and scaled back for two; ordering a take out dinner with all the trimmings (Some restaurants put out to-go spreads that are to die for); and one final option, and my personal favorite, calls for creating a different kind of feast, but doing it together. My favorite is Italian. It's quick, easy and sharing a plate of spaghetti over candlelight is just right for romance.
- Dessert. I'm not talking pumpkin pie here! To show her just how thankful you are, turn the special day into something much more. Transform your bathtub into a personal spa for two and pamper her every step of the way. Heat up some sensual oils to just the right temperature and relax her worries away while lighting some fires. Sweep her off her feet by creating a private dance floor in the living room. Slow music only! Use your imagination and have some fun. The only real turkey on Thanksgiving is the guy who doesn't explore the romantic possibilities!
There's no reason to miss out on Thanksgiving when it's just the two of you. Scale back the feast, don't cut corners on the dessert and you'll find the holiday and its traditions are delectable no matter the number of place settings at the table.
