St. Patrick's Day can be as romantic and sweet or as wild and crazy as you both want it to be.

Now, you're probably wondering how to make it all happen, right? Of course you are! So, here's an outline for a game plan you can use:

 

The ask out – Send the lady who has caught your eye a holiday themed gift basket with an invitation for the big night out. Go with something fun and sweet, but not saucy here fellas!

The date – The best plan here will depend a lot on how rowdy or romantic you want the date to be. For a very mild and fun date, consider taking her to a St. Patrick's Day parade. This is a very unassuming venue for a date that doesn't put pressure on either one of you. You will have fun, too! If something a bit more lively is what you have in mind, try an Irish pub with dancing and music. You will not be disappointed. Should more quiet and romantic be to your liking, find a restaurant that serves up great Irish fare and has a soft atmosphere.

The top off – It doesn't matter what kind of date works the best for you, don't forget to top it off right! Take her out for green beer or an Irish coffee.

A Chat With Cupid

As February 14^th rolls around, the hearts and minds of many people ponder love, romance and that crazy little guy who gets the credit for making some of the best matches in the world. But, just who is this Cupid guy and what is his real story?

 

 

Recently, I had the pleasure of interviewing this elusive God of Love. The following is a cleaned up transcript of our discussion, complete with notes on some of the action. Let me tell you, that Cupid is a little firecracker.

Question

So, Cupid we are now in the new millennium. Have you made any adjustments to bring your craft up to speed with the times?

Answer

Yes, in fact, I have. I recently traded in my bow and arrows for this excellent laser gun.

Question

How is that working for you?

Answer

It is incredible. The speed and precision it provides are truly amazing. This baby enables me to hunt down even the worst of the romantically reluctant, commitment phobic people out there with no trouble at all. Romantic deadbeats do not stand a chance against this particular weapon of love. When I hit them, they fall head over heels for a special lady or a hot guy. Have you ever seen the pitiful eyes of puppy dog love? Well, that is what this does to my targets and a whole lot more.

So, who exactly are you Cupid? I have heard all kinds of stories, but most of us just think you are a fairy with a penchant for diapers. What gives?

Answer

Of all the nerve!  I have you know that I am the Roman counterpart to the Greek God Eros and control the forces of erotic love.  My name comes from the Latin word “Cupido” which translates to “passion, desire and yearning.  

 

My powers are legendary and they are inescapable. Once I have you in my sights, you will succumb to my powers and fall madly in love with the mate of my choosing. No mere mortal stands a chance after they have been zapped by my all-powerful laser. That much I can tell you for certain.

 (Cupid leans in a little closer to Romeo.)

What are your plans this month?

Answer

I intend to hunt down a few of the men on my Top 10 Commitment Phobic list. Oh, will you look here? It seems, Mr. Romeo, that you have earned the distinction of being on my list.

Well, as you can see folks, that Cupid is one crafty little guy. Fortunately for me, I am a little craftier and I can run at warp speed. He will not catch me until I am good and ready. I promise I will be someday, but until then he will have to satisfy himself with the other nine escapees on his list.

Select a perfectly romantic restaurant for dinner, follow this up with dancing and then take your lady to an upscale hotel for the evening. Book early to get a honeymoon suite if you really want the night to shine. At the hotel, make sure there is plenty of champagne waiting, strawberries dipped in chocolate and even a few other romantic perks like a heart-shaped bathtub or a decadently appointing king size bed complete with cushy feather pillows.

Yes, guys, this idea will set you back more than a few dollars. Your lady, however, is worth it. Plus, you will not find yourself complaining when your sweetheart turns up her fire.
